About Us
Twiga means "giraffe" in Kiswahili. Like the giraffe, towering over the animals of the African Savannah, we strive to be a "head and neck" above our competitors by building strong relationships with the farmers. Simply put, Equality.Partnership., is our goal with the producers that we interact with.
We have two office locations, one in Cary, NC, USA and one in Nairobi, Kenya. Our physical location in East Africa allows us to affect tangible change in the region. We are there first hand to observe the problems that the farmers are experiencing. But more importantly, because "We are the Farmer, Exporter and Importer" we are committed to finding solutions.
Twiga Imports is actively involved in projects that promote the awareness of fair and sustainable trading practices. The Sustainability of excellent coffees and teas starts with fair compensation to the farmer and we are confident that the Fair Share™ initiative is one step in the right direction. Please join us in our commitment to truly make a difference and put the future of the farmer first. If we are all serious in this endeavor then that great cup of coffee or tea that most of us around the world start our day with will continue to get better and better with each year that passes.
